Their not very talkative on here Fessy. I went back to work today but i sprung a leak almost instantly! The central spindle on my hose reel split and ive had to order a new replacement. I think the frost probably made it spilt! Are you working at the moment yourself Fessy?

You so right about people not wanting to talk, even when i ask questions for information, i do not always get a response.

Your split hose reel is that a common problem, and who do get your window cleaning equipment from.

With regards to working; i am always working (Poor me !)

Well the hose spindle splitting is a new one on me! A replacement part is only about a tenner anyway. I used to get my window cleaning gear from windowcleaningwarehouse but i now get all i need from surecleansystems. Windowcleaningwarehouse are very good but surecleansystems are a local Irish company and their customer service and prices are extremely good, i also prefer to give my hard earned money to a local business. Fessy, ive tried asking people on here, to take some part in this forum, just a few questions, a few experiences etc. Its dead as a dodo on here , as you know only to well. What can you do. What exactly do you do Fessy? Are you a window cleaner, do you sell window cleaning equipment?

I don't think i know Surecleansystems.

I work for Ettore in the UK, and have now taken more of an interest in the forum, as a source of obtaining information from hands on professionals within our industry that know what they are talking about; so i am open to suggestion on what would get the ball rolling.

You could always obtain Forum members addresses and send round some heavies to force them to post. All joking aside though, i find cleaning forums really helpful, especially when you can find out from fellow window cleaners, answers to any questions or problems you might be having. Ive learned an awful lot from the info ive read and ive also passed on my own experiences and successful ideas to others. www.surecleansystems are based in Omagh, Northern Ireland. Ive bought both my waterfed trailer system and a 500ltr van system from them. Its a small set up and i cannot fault them on anything. Decent prices, excellent customer service and after sales and the work they have done for me has been first class.

Do Sureclean sell any hand tools ?

Are you based in the North or southern part of Ireland, and how is the credit crunch affectting your business.
I have been informed from window cleaners that the economy situation has created alot of activity due to having to quote for new jobs and re-quote on exsiting contratcts in order to keep the work; have you also found this?

I also want to know what happens to the water in a PWS when the temprature drops below freezing.

Im based in the North of Ireland Fessy. So far the credit crunch hasnt had any real affect on me, if anything, im getting busier. I havent had to re-quote any of my work, apart from one large manor house. The woman asked me to reduce my price by £30.00 but i said i couldnt do that and thanked her for her past custom. Thankfully im in a position to be able to pick and choose my customers, even with the way things are. With the frosty mornings and freezing temperatures, the water and connections can all freeze up and it can take a good couple of hours to thaw them. However, you can purchase small electric radiators from the likes of B&Q and put them in the back of your van overnight. You just have to put them on the lowest setting and its enough to keep the water and fixtures from freezing up. It only costs about 50p to leave on throughout the night, so its very economical.
