have any of you guys ever had an accident in your van or car that has stopped you working due to it? if so what did your customers think of it and did you lose any customers because of it? i have had an accident in my van and i am now in my third week of not working as my van is being repaired and i have called and texted at lot of customers and they are all fine with it, but i am worried about now being far behind and the customers i have not been able to get hold of will they still want me to do work for them. any experiance and advice would be much appreciated!

I havent been in that situation smartshine, please God i wont be in the future either. If your customers have been on your books for a few years, then id be confident that 99% of them will understand your situation & will be patient enough to wait. The fact you have informed them of your predicament will have them on your side. Perhaps the odd customer will get someone else or start doing them themselves, but these customers will be the ones you can do without anyway. Just keep them updated weekly with a little text or e-mail and you'll soon be back on track. Keep us updated on the forum if you would. Goodluck....

Like jd says a text,email or a letter through their door will do the trick.

hi guys, got my van back last fri and straight back to work saturday, still signwriting and things need doing but i will arrange that thru insurance. customers so far have been really understanding, and picked up more work the last two days, so glad to be back at work, a total of 3 and a half weeks off in total, not good. I hope none of you go thru what i have been thru, just drive really carefull, and thanks fish4fun for the tip with the letters, surprisingly a very traditional method that i had not thought of!

Glad you are back working Smartshine, as it was mentioned previously, least you weren't hurt, vans can be fixed !!

On a plus point least you picked up some new customers also !!
