You can tell when the weather is good, I can usually tell who the window cleaners are as the summer outfits tends to appear rather quicky!!

As well as our normal range of clothing maybe we should look at introducing a summer selection with Ettore shorts and vests - do you fancy modelling the range for our catalogue Fish4fun if it ever comes to fruition??!!

PS - I am so jeolous of you finishing early in this weather, I'd love to be able to do that !!

Its tough to work in this heat, but like fish4fun, i can stop and start when it takes my fancy. Oh the delights of self employment. Ah well mark, at least you wont get sun burnt mate.

What I've worked out is you never see a window cleaner who hasn't got a tan JD !!

Very true about the sun burn JD - mind you, I am practically transparent I am that white with being stuck in an office !!

Do you ever notice an increase in new window cleaners in your area when there's a bit of sunshine? I was talking to a distributor yesterday and he's said that theres been an increase in new window cleaners who have taken it up due to redundancies, hours been cut at work etc

Hi Mark, yes i would model the ettore summer gear,i better start working out so i could lose a few pounds round the belly.
On the subject of more window cleaners appearing in the summer, yes there is definitely an increase and also like you have mentioned with people losing their jobs they are more looking to set up their own business like window cleaning or grass cutting.

Definitely more window cleaners on the go! But most will fall by the wayside, as a lot of people think your going to find 500 regular customers in a few months! It takes at a good couple of years to get a customer base that gives you a livable wage. Unless your extremely fortunate! Most will get bored after a few months, i see it so often.

I assume that people will think that as they maybe at a loose end, and the weathers nice, do window cleaning etc.

I suppose the situation changes also when the weather takes a turn for the worse - does that seperate the men from the boys !!

I have to put sun cream on my head too JD as I get joelous of how much hair Duncan Goodhew has compared to me !! - Only kidding but I'm not that far behind !!

This weather is intense, least when you are abroad it tends to be a heat that you can handle as it isn't too humid, and you've always got the sea or a pool to plunge into. Here it's very close and stuffy, no wonder in between games Andy Murray has ice baths to recover.

Ice baths, now that would refresh you alright mark! Fish4fun, i could only manage 2mins of wimbledon, not even Sharapova could make me watch it for longer.

Weather definitely changed down here too.

Looking out of the window now and it's pouring with rain - definitely more bearable though, not half as humid which is a good thing.

not had any thunder storms though, although there's still time I suppose..

Hi Fish4fun,

Absolutely typical about returning to work and the sun is shining - always happens.

Take today for instance - lovely and sunny down here, I know for a fact tomorrow as it's approaching the weekend it will be back to rain !!

Did you partake in sampling some lovely single malts on your holidays?? !!

I can already vouch for that Fish4fun - having indulged myself a few years ago and managing to miss my flight back home because of it !!

One drink (of many!!) I did stumble across was a pint which consisted of half guinness topped up with a bottle of WKD Irn Bru - was very different but you couldn't drink too many of those !!

Another drink I became partial too was the hot toddys with cloves in the glass - very nice !!

All in all a very nice trip apart from the one way BA flight that cost me an extra £140.00 to get back to Leeds Bradford - oh well, you live and learn as they say !!
